While I certainly don't condone the violence seen inside and outside court; I am disgusted by the pathetic sentence handed to convicted killer, Jay William Cook. Cook was sentenced to a mere 4 years imprisonment for murdering 16-year-old teenager Todd Burrows. Taking into account time already served, Cook will be eligible for parole in December 2014.
Cook was sentenced by Justice Peter Garling, who claimed the 20-year-old killer ''...is a relatively young man. He was of reasonably good character. He is intelligent and his prospects of rehabilitation are good''
Another betrayal of justice by our out of touch judiciary.
wonderful...thank you
ReplyDeleteIt's totally wrong, four years for killing someone is a joke, people are jailed longer for unpaid fines
ReplyDeleteThe biggest miscarriage of justice is that Garling supported and condoned the lies that the killer told, and chose to omit the truth that would have seen this piece of filth get the sentence he deserved. If this were my child that was killed, I to would stop at nothing to clear the name of my dead child and bake sure the truth is told . Hang yr head in shame Garling u useless excuse for a man.
ReplyDeletehe got 7 and a half years
ReplyDelete4 years in Jail!! Parole, back in the community after 4 years
ReplyDeletehe wasn't charged with murder it was manslaughter i think he should be released
ReplyDeletefree jay coooooook
ReplyDeleteAnonymous why are you stating under anonymous ! Scared???? Ohh manslaughter is different in your eyes? If he was a man he would of told the truth about what happened but obviously he will never be a man! How can YOu sleep at night knowing that he has KILLED a child? Will he let his children know in later life? How would they feel knowing their own father KILLED?
DeleteThank you some sense at last.
DeleteI'm surprised there was any conviction given the 'lies' that were told & the judge chosing to 'omit the truth'. Ugh, a terrible thing has occurred & perhaps the sentence was lenient but try & handle it with some dignity & certainly don't condone the type of outrageous behaviour outside the courtroom. Isn't that the very type of behaviour that led everyone there in the first place.
ReplyDeleteWhen it's YOUR CHILD show me how dignified you would be. Ridiculous statement.
Deleteyour sick in the head if you think he should be released he killed someone he should die in prison
ReplyDeleteA life for a life!!!
ReplyDeletepeople need TO realise that if you wanna run in gangs and play gang games then thats the risk you take, its the same as if you steal a car and get killed in the chase....you choose to live like it and play like it then its your own fault..... STOP WITH ALL THE GANG BANGER SHIT
ReplyDeleteTodd Ricky burrows was not running with a gang. He answered the call of a frightened friend who was beset upon by a knife wielding coward and his allies. You really shouldn't believe all the lies you're fed. He was a loyal friend. Not a gang banger.
Deleteit all comes down to if ya start a fight with some one bigger than you it just goes to show you wont win....every time someone mentions either kids name it creates more violence.....JUST LET THE KID REST IN PEACE AND THE OTHER KID GET ON WITH HIS LIFE... both kids knew the risk and still made their choice for their actions, its sad that one had to die but thats the choice they both made living the life they did, and WHERE EXACTLY WERE EITHER OF THEIR PARENTS IN THIS FROM THE BEGINING... what was the 16yr old doing out so late and how come the parents didnt stop the gang activities.... YA CANT TELL ME THEY DIDNT KNOW? THE PARENTS NEED TO FOCUS ON MAKING SURE THEIR IS NO MORE GANGS AND NOT PROMOTE PAYBACKS....MAYBE IF THE PARENT SPENT MORE TIME IN THEIR KIDS LIFE THEN THIS WOULD NOT OF HAPPENED.....SHAME ON THE PARENTS
