Stop the creeping republicanism

Baulkham Hills MP David Elliott, Castle Hill MP Dominic Perrottet, and upper-house MLC Natasha Maclaren-Jones have written to NSW Education Minister, Adrian Piccoli urging schools to bring back portraits of Her Majesty The Queen, to honour the Diamond Jubilee.

Mr Elliot also wants the reintroduction of knighthoods and Queen's Counsels for top barristers. Mr Elliot pointed out that we have never had any referendum to remove those titles.

Union bully-boys are at it again

Teachers are being bullied into strike action by militant NSW Teachers' Federation representatives, reports the Sunday Telegraph today. Teachers have told the paper and the Minister for Education, Adrian Piccoli they are being subjected to ''constant harrasement'' from union reps if they refuse to take part in strikes over school devolution.

Staff need to be protected from union thugs, and given more rights to refuse to participate in pointless strikes.
