Paul Bongiorno from Channel 10 this morning tweeted his reaction to the Peter Slipper scandal:
If Peter Slipper was accused of sexual harassment towards a female staffer would be reporting on that be homophobic? Paul Bongiorno is treating homosexuality, gay relationships and men as victims of bullying differently. Surely that means he's the real homophobic and sexist one?
Look in the mirror, Paul.
UPDATE: It's interesting that while Paul slurs Steve Lewis, a professional journalist, he is actually the one in the wrong.

Dutch sick of the Euro
Dutch MP and Leader of the third-largest party in The Netherlands Geert Wilders has called for his country to withdraw from the Euro and return to their former currency, the guilder.
Mr Wilders said ' The euro is not in the interests of the Dutch people. We want to be the master of our own house and our own country, so we say yes to the guilder''
Geert Wilders
Very well put.

Good read
An excellent article in the Financial Times about the rise of minor parties in the UK such as Respect, UKIP and the Greens.
UKIP is now polling ahead of the Lib Dems, who have 57 seats in the House of Commons.

Who wants spin in a newspaper?
The Daily Telegraph seems to have adopted an odd strategy: give up its opinion space to Labor politicians.
Friday: Michael Danby, Federal Labor MP for Melbourne Ports
Wednesday: Edited extract of a Julia Gillard speech
Tuesday: Home Affairs Minister, Jason Clare
Why would anyone want to pay for in a newspaper what they could read on Government websites? It's time for some new opinion talent at the Telegraph.

Gay activist thugs
People are entitled to their views, and are entitled to free speech. But banging on glass windows of a private business and abusing a political leader having a quiet dinner with a friend is taking it too far.
Thugs from the increasingly violent activist group Equal Love targeted Tony Abbott while he was having dinner in Melbourne on Sunday night with Greg Sheridan from The Australian.
It's also interesting to note these professional protesters never seem to target Julia Gillard, despite her personal and political opposition to gay marriage. Hypocrites.
UPDATE: Outstanding interview between Ben Fordham and Ali Hogg from Equal Love.

What's gone wrong?
Something is seriously wrong with society when:
- An 11-year-old boy pushes an elderly woman to the ground and steals her handbag, in Warrawong
- A 15-year-old boy attacks and indecently assaults a 42 year old female jogger, in Castlecrag
- A mother drives drunk with her two children aged two and four, in Kirrawee
- A 14-year-old boy is charged after alcohol and cash is stolen and a stolen get-away car is used, in Kempsey
- A 15-year-old is caught driving illegally with stun guns and a knife, in Bentleigh
Don is wrong
Liberal President of the NSW Legislative Council Don Harwin overstepped the mark today when he made a submission to to a federal inquiry into gay marriage.
Mr Harwin wrote in his submission that ''civil unuons are not an adequate substitute for full equality in marriage for same-sex partners''. He is wrong to imply that homosexual couples have the right to alter an existing age-old institution. Mr Harwin should not misuse his position to attempt to over-rule the Federal Coalition and its leadership.
An interesting question for Harwin by the way would be 'Do you support marriage between three people' and 'Do you support marriage between a man and a cat?'

Sydney needs a second airport
I find my self in disagreement with Barry O'Farrell, after he called for Canberra to be Sydney's second airport. As Transport Minister Anthony Albanese said today ''There's nowhere in the world where you fly into a major global city and have to travel 300km to get to that city. It's like buying a ticket to New York and landing in Washington DC''.
As O'Farrell knows, a second airport in Metropolitan Sydney is electoral poison. My pick is for Newcastle Airport at Williamtown to be upgraded. The airport is already a ''designate international airport'' and is far closer to Sydney CBD than Canberra. Secondly, Newcastle is a growing city and it would be a big boost for the former steel city.
Regardless of where, Sydney desperately needs a new airport.

Another dangerous left-wing politician
Lord Nazir Ahmed, Baron Ahmed is a British peer (Member of the House of Lords). Until today, he was a Member of the Labour Party, and like Ken Livingstone and George Galloway is an Islamicist.
He was suspended from the Labour Party after he allegedly offered £10 million to anyone who captured George Bush and Barack Obama.
He reportedly said, whilst in Pakistan last week, ''If the US can announce a reward of $10 million for ... Hafiz Saeed, I can announce a bounty of £10 million [for the capture of] President Obama and his predecessor, George Bush''
Hafiz Saeed is a Pakistani militant leader with alleged links to Osama bin Laden.
Lord Ahmed has in the past allegedly threatened to "bring a force of 10,000 Muslims to lay siege to the Lords'' if the anti-Islamist Dutch MP Geert Wilders was allowed to speak.

UPDATE: Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune has corrected the original article. Apparently, Lord Ahmed actually offered to raise £10 million to bring George Bush and Tony Blair before the International Criminal Court for ''war crimes''. Meanwhile, Respect MP and Islamicist George Galloway invited Lord Ahmed to join his party saying; ''I think the suspension of Lord Nazir Ahmed indicates that New Labour is on some sort of suicide mission so far as the Muslim vote goes. Lord Nazir is a great figure - not politically close to me - among the Asian heritage population of Britain and is now suspended from the Labour party, as I myself was. So let me extend to him an invitation to fill in an application form and join Respect."
